Monadnock Regional School Board Named New Hampshire’s Best

Superintendent Lisa A. Witte is pleased to share that the Monadnock Regional School Board has been named the School Board of the Year by the New Hampshire School Board Association (NHSBA).

The NHSBA School Board of Excellence Award acknowledges the leadership, teamwork and effectiveness of school boards, and provides an opportunity for the chosen board to share its expertise with others throughout the State. School boards can be nominated for the award by their local members, administrators, or constituents. The Board was nominated for the award by Witte.

Witte cited numerous factors in nominating the board, including the self-evaluations it undertook in 2020 and 2021, which were deliberate data-gathering efforts meant to help the board identify its strengths as well as areas it should focus on improving. Through that process, the board identified consistent improvement in administration, clearer awareness of district goals, as well as efforts to make meetings more productive.

The board was also recognized for its work to modernize and better articulate its policies through the revision and updating of its policy manual through a public process.

Additionally, the board was recognized for its renewed commitment to developing a comprehensive capital improvement program to address facility needs of varying size and scope.

“The board has done tremendous work in a variety of areas to build trust in the community and earn stakeholder buy-in for key district needs,” Witte said. “Our entire community should be proud of the effort the board has done in recent years to further deepen its commitment to meeting students’ needs and supporting the district’s work to attain its goals.”
