Monadnock Regional School District Employees Receive Everyday Heroes Awards

Witte was honored for her volunteer work at the Krif Road COVID-19 Vaccination site, and she also signed up to become a volunteer firefighter for the Town of Peterborough Fire and Rescue in February. Once she finishes her training, Witte will respond to emergency calls.

Chamberlain, who has been teaching for 40 years, was recognized for her efforts in the classroom during the COVID-19 pandemic. As her classroom moved between in-person learning and online, asynchronous learning, Chamberlain worked to ensure her students received a quality education. She helped students with personal guidance and individual academic plans over the last year, along with normal coursework, going above and beyond.

Each of the winners will receive a $250 Hannaford Supermarket gift card. The Everyday Heroes Award has four distinct categories, with the top four vote getters from each one earning recognition.

Voting occurred between April 30 and May 9, and there will be a special section in the Keene Sentinel on June 10 recognizing the winners. Nominations were open to anyone in the categories of Volunteer, Teacher Pre K-12, Healthcare Worker/First Responder and Frontline Worker.
